Woman of the Year & Chevrolet

How do you engage an audience and let them share in a new powerful experience?

How do you create a program that connects with an urban community in the same way

you do as a rural community? How do you reach and impact moms, teachers, artists,

business women, and kids alike- all in a similar and meaningful way?

By creating a meaningful and empowering integrated marketing campaign that

combines the power of compassion with the strength & beauty that exists in each and

every one of our lives.

Synergy Marketing Partners created the Woman of the Year program as a way to

honor women and cultivate the positive messages in our local communities.

Chevrolet, with their launch of their all new Malibu, was a perfect fit to be the

presenting sponsor and capitalize on the positive buzz and unique integration

opportunities that this annual program provided.

Women of the Year was launched in ten markets. The idea created a platform for

people to share stories and honor the many outstanding women in their lives. The program was

met with an overwhelming response from men & women- mothers, fathers, siblings, children,

friends and more. Visitors to the sites were able to nominate and share their story about an

outstanding woman in their life. After the nomination process, users were able to send along

their nomination to the nominee and to friends and family, who could then vote for that person.

Woman of the Year was marketed on a multi-faceted front- search, banners, print, radio, PR,

local media coverage on the morning shows, as well as through a partnership with Macy's that

included in-store advertisements and retail integration.

Synergy Marketing Partners helped to execute the Chevy and Woman of the Year integration

with Macy's which included Chevy Malibu displays in numerous Macy's stores across the

Midwest, Flat Panels with looped product and promotional messaging in store, high end

collateral, signage and staffing.

Two other unique features of this campaign were its Cause Marketing approach, as well as its

Viral success. For every vote cast for the 10 Finalists, a donation was made to the charity of

the ultimate winne's choice. This provided a huge ground swell of voting and added another

positive touch point and PR message to the program. Because of the overwhelming response

from friends and family forwarding their messages on, "Woman of the Year" was hitting

the scene all over the place with pages and messages on Facebook, MySpace, YouTube,

local community message boards, in church bulletins, blogs, and the list goes on.

With creative marketing, a clear focused goal and plenty of hard work & determination the

Woman of the Year program was deemed a success on all fronts. The program delivered great

results and looks forward to returning & growing in the years to come.

By nominating a woman for Woman of the Year you are letting her know how important she is to

you and the impact she makes in the lives of others. Although there will only be one final

Chicago Woman of the Year winner, we will be able to personally recognize the many

extraordinary women that we all know and love- our sisters, mothers, friends, neighbors,

teachers, caregivers, and the list goes on and on. By sending along the nomination to your

nominee and others, the positive message of the Woman of the Year program will have a

tremendous reach into our local communities. In spreading this positive message our hope is

that we will continue to appreciate and honor the special women in our lives each and every

day and be thankful for the wonderful roles they play in our lives.
